The Wildlife Resources Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources has reported that a Florida man landed a record-setting whopper blue catfish.
Tim Trone of Havana, Fla., caught the 110-pound fish in Lake Eufaula in the Chattahoochee River in Stewart County, Ga., on Saturday, Oct. 17, during a fishing tournament.
“Fishing on any given day is a good day. But angler Tim Trone of Havana, Fla., had a GREAT day when he caught the new Georgia State Record Blue Catfish,” the Wildlife Resources Division said on its Facebook page.
The fish weighed 110 pounds and 6 ounces, was 58 inches long and had a girth of 42 inches.
